Heavy baggage

We are back in the states! The flights so far were ok, but we did have to wait at Ben Gurion for over an hour to finally take off for the 12 hour flight. Si, of course, wanted to get down and walk around all the time. There were several upsetting moments when she couldn't. And the connection at Newark was a mess. Later I'll post a photo that gives a better idea of what it was like to get from gate to gate.

Today we are going to our home church for worship service. It's nice to be back.

One day left

On Friday Si got sick. Flu symptoms that began unexpectedly on the bus. What fun! The other passengers were delighted as well. She is doing great now, but we did have quite the fever that night and I didn't get much sleep. So it wasn't too surprising that two days later I was feeling the same thing, except I think I had it worse than her. However, I am doing better now. Just in time for packing!

Shawn takes his test today (Tuesday) at 9am our time. Do pray for him and the test. And that he doesn't get sick!

Our flight leaves at about 11am on Wednesday. The time has come.

Afternoon in Ramallah

Notes: Ramallah was a lot easier to get to than I thought it would be. Shorter bus ride than going to Bethlehem! However, the taxis drivers were not so great because they didn't speak very much English. Not much tourism to Ramallah.

After our friend got her Jordanian visa, we had an excellent lunch for cheap and then a delightful iced coffee at Stars and Bucks. It was quite warm but the breeze was cool in the shade. Even though we ended up leaving our friend at the checkpoint on the way back (I didn't have to get off the bus because I had a baby and then the bus didn't wait for her because these buses are coming and going all the time), it was a great visit overall. Also, I wish I had made a big trip there when we first moved here because many things are decently priced!

Anecdote of the day

Yesterday Si was sitting on the floor next to Shawn. Shawn was resting on his back at the time. He says "I could really use a back scratch." Si immediately began scratching his belly. :)
