Today's reading of Humpty Dumpty
There are two things I want to remember about today.
1. What Si calls herself: "Si-Ra"
2. Her reading of the four page Humpty Dumpty book today:
"Dumpy Dumpy"
"Dumpy Dumpy fall down"
"Dumpy Dumpy horse"

Snow day
I wish I had a camera today.
It snowed about six inches last night and this morning the world was white and the sun shining. I decided it was time Si knew about snow angels. I bundled her up in her inherited light blue snow pants, booties, coat and mittens. She also wore her usual girly pink snow hat.
As soon as we got outside Si started saying "crunch, crunch" as I've taught her to say when we walk on snow. We walked to the middle of the yard and we made snow angels. Not sure she sees any relation between the angel on the tree and her mark in the snow, but we had a great time. I think she smiled the entire time outside. We made some snow balls too, and the farm cat came to say hi. He was especially friendly and playful with Si and her outfit. Si giggled at the cat and fell down a couple of times because of the cat brushing against her.

Winter Sun Run 2011
http://www.moabhalfmarathon.org/wintersun/
Today I (Beth) jogged 10k. It wasn't pretty and I stopped for a few 60 second walk breaks, but I finished.
I went with my sister in law, Crystal, friend Nancy and neighbor and running partner, Anna. But I actually ran with a mother of four who was going my speed. I was realistically hoping for a time of one hour twenty-two minutes.
The results:
Me, 29: 1 hour 15 min
Nancy, 54: 1 hour 6 min (only because she became a little ill, this gal is fit. Crossfit.)
Crystal, 29 forever: 56 min
Anna, 28: 48 min
So glad Anna didn't wait for me! She wasn't far from placing even if the winner in her age group was at 34 or 35 min.
There were 700 participants, awards for winners, a raffle with bunches of chances to win local goodies, lots of refreshments, and I now own a sweet race shirt and bag. The cherry of the day, though, was the feeling I had while crossing the finish line. Loved it.

Today is Si's half-birthday!
- Favorite words at 18 months: down, up, cow, horse, goat, Abba, Rosie (for Ring around the Rosie), pat pat (for petting), hold, nope, hop pop (a favorite book, Hop on Pop), cereal, cookie, Opa! (a general exclamation we have borrowed from Israeli kids), cup, hot, cold, book, sit, phone, talk, duck, moon, happy, car, bed, wovey (lovey), pastor (pacifier), cwistol (Crystal), Amy, Sasa (Savta Pam), Mima, Papa, gama (grandma), no, peas (please), hold on!, ride (as she tries to climb onto the four-wheeler), ball, block, circle, star, baby, bear...and many others!
- While I was sweeping the other day, Si ran to me shouting, "Help! Help!". Then she handed me the dust pan, completely unprompted.
- When I am in the kitchen, Si's favorite thing to do is rearrange the pantry and the lazy susan cupboard. Yesterday she found a bag of red potatoes and decided to take a bite. I thought for sure she would spit it out but she ended up chomping on it till she ate a third of it.
- I haven't ran much in my life and I just signed up for a 10k run on Dec. 3rd. Today, while I was "training", I went pass the cows and heard a *plop* and looked over to see a newly born slimy calf. I went to get Lydia and we came back and watched the little guy take his first steps.
- We found out on Monday that Shawn didn't make the short list for a job in a library that we really wanted him to have. Pray we find something for him!
